Senator Ron Wyden - Digital Director
As Senator Wyden's Digital Director, I managed the Senator's social media channels (Twitter, Flickr, Instagram, YouTube, Medium) and the Senate Finance Committee Twitter profile. I produced videos and graphics, managed relationships with outside groups and organizations and work with staff in DC and Oregon. I advise the Senator on elevating his policies and goals on digital platforms.
Early 2018, I coordinated with our outside web vendor and internal legislative and communications staff to complete a website redesign project.
Around the time of the #GOPTaxScam, I started the “Ron Report,” a video tool for Senator Wyden to communicate on Twitter with his constituents from Washington and his home state. Several Ron Report videos have reached up to 180,000 views and over 7,000 retweets. To amplify policies and legislative activity online, the Senator has participated in Facebook Live with organizations and media outlets, Twitter Live Stream of events and press conferences and Reddit AMAs.
I created the The Oregon Way video series to shine a light on Wyden's practice of coming together to create bipartisan solutions. The stories are centered around Oregonians and Oregon communities and how Senator Wyden has stepped up to a challenge. I research, film and edit the videos with Final Cut Pro.
My work also includes graphic design for digital campaigns and event outreach.
Senator Wyden’s following increased from 220k followers in October 2017 to 425k and I helped the Senator win the Congressional Management Foundation’s award for Innovation via digital communications.
